New computing servers for the ArcelorMittal research center
FRA-SYS sells computing servers for the ArcelorMittal research center in France.
The research center at Maizières-lès-Metz is organized around 4 poles: automotive, ore, processes and packaging.
It is the ArcelorMittal Group's largest research and development center in the world. The campus is home to almost five hundred researchers of different nationalities.
The center also welcomes students and doctoral candidates. Teams are working on new materials to meet the demands of the future. Materials that are stronger, lighter, easier to produce, transform and paint (flat and long steels, special plates) are being designed for all kinds of applications, including packaging. In addition, the automotive industry requires constant innovation to produce lightweight steel without sacrificing strength.
Finally, ArcelorMittal is concerned about the environment. The question of reducing our energy footprint is raised right from the research and development phase.
New compute servers tested and approved
In addition, FRA-SYS was able to demonstrate the reliability and efficiency of its machines. For almost four weeks, the equipment was subjected to production and load tests.
Depending on the software and usage, ArcelorMittal was able to record processing time savings ranging from 20 to 60% compared with those obtained on their own machines.
These factual results prompted the Indian group to purchase four FRA-SYS compute servers. The machines join the cluster of a large-scale project.
