FRA-SYS installs a machine at the ITECH engineering school

The ITECH engineering school in the Lyon region trains engineers for careers in chemistry. In addition to its teaching and its specializations around the majors, the school has forged special links with professionals in the sector: formulation chemistry, plastic materials, textiles and leather.

ITECH has strong links with professionals and has developed a research and development center. Companies have access to skills, infrastructures and technical resources for analysis and testing assignments, among others.

FRA-SYS approached ITECH last year. The head of the Plastics Materials Research Unit explains the bottlenecks encountered during simulation tests on products. Execution times have a strong impact on research projects. This is a classic illustration of the problems faced by FRA-SYS customers.

Try and Buy

After a detailed study of the uses, we proposed a perfectly sized machine. There is nothing better than a test in real conditions to prove by example that the performance and productivity gains that we put forward are factual and measurable.

As Anne-Catherine Brulez, head of the plastics materials major, explains: "With the Moldflow software we use, we have divided the calculation time by three. Until now, a calculation with 1.8 million elements took about 7 hours on our most powerful machines. With this new FRA-SYS PC, we are, on average, on the same calculation at 2 h 30 minutes."

In conclusion, the validated test turned into the purchase of the machine.
